I wanted to make a shoe rack out of a wooden pallet I found at the end of my street, so came up with a design using Sketchup and borrowed some power tools of a mate. It probably took about 10 hours to make, over a couple of weeks. Sanding took a long time and was the most painful part, but worth the effort. Finished off with a couple of coats of Danish Oil. Perfect for sitting on while putting on your shoes!

I would love to make this for my mudroom. Do you have any detailed instructions for making this? I have been looking for a project for my homeschooled 11th grade son to do as an elective credit and this would be perfect.
