Conservetry / Side Pallet Table

This my third pallet table and I’ve named it Africa. I used two smallish pallets and all the timbers were hand cut and hand planned for squaring up. I don’t possess many electric tools other than a palm sander and jig saw. I used screw and glue fixings on the legs and nails/glue on the top. I painted the legs and apron in egg shell paint and then waxed them. I used some wood dye and white waster based gloss on the top boards, which I then sanded down to distress. Followed by 3 coats of varnish and one coat of clear wax.

i really like this. I like how you’ve used the same wood for the legs as on the couple I’ve made I’ve had to buy wood for chunky legs. Out of interest, did you make the diagonals on the top to fit in an existing frame or did you make the frame around it? did you stick them to a sheet of something? etc. etc. I’m going to do the diagonal panels on the top on my next one and I’m just thinking of the easiest way to do it. Thank for getting back to me, I appreciate it. I’ve just started the worst bit – pulling the pallet apart! I think I’d rather do my own dentistry!
